July 6 - France
Today in Paris, all the museums are free. Don and I wanted to see the Louvre and Cory was off to Musee D'Orsay and Musee Rodin.
Check out Cory's FaceBook for photos of Rodin's The Thinker (Cory's trademark sculpture) and other interesting tidbits. He is much quicker on posts in general.
The Louvre
Breathtaking and photos don't do it justice. A few favourites of ours were Psyche and Cupid's Kiss sculpture, an unknown painting with figures that literally glowed by the right use of paint, and of course The Mona Lisa. Since we chose the wheelchair service with the museum being so large we were able to jump the queue not only at the entrance but also a front row viewing of Mona herself.
After we met back at the apartment we headed off for an evening stroll. That is the next post.
